Full Description:
Sometimes just talking about threats and danger isn't enough. Children are curious by nature. Experimenting, even with what adults would consider extreme poor judgment, is just too tempting.
Personal Computers and Cell Phones are wonderful tools. I am jealous that they weren't available when I was a kid and frankly, I don't know what I would do without the internet and the convenience of my cell phone today. We provide these devices to our children for education and safety but unfortunately abuse far too often becomes a real threat.
When I was a child my father warned me of the threat of molestation in public restrooms. He taught me how to defend myself against bullies on the play ground and scolded me when he found my first "Girlie" magazine. These are all serious cyber activities today and we, as parents, need to protect and prepare our children to deal with them.
There are solutions available. All too often we are confronted with horrific stories about victimized children. It's rhetorical to ask a parent if they wished that they could have done more to protect their child.
I have an informative video by Bella Shaw from CNN. She presents the problems and better yet the solutions for the threats confronting our kids today. Contact me today at rdubmar@comcast.net for a free copy.
