Full Description:
Dustin Lackey, local surfer who saved a man from drowning, didn't want commendations-- just his surf board back.
Lackey saved 39-year-old Ronald Williams, who had been drunk when he decided to dive head-first off the Crystal Pier, is now recovering from surgery for a broken spine.
A private company, upon hearing about Lackey's heroism, humility and news about his surfboard getting ripped off, offered to buy him a new one. And to cap it all off, Mayor Jerry Sanders and other public officials recently held a conference in the 21 year old's honor.
